I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness...

If you have no idea what the title of this blog is referring to, I suggest you go read Allen Ginsberg's poem "Howl". My new image heading is an image of Ginsberg with the famous opening line of "Howl" in the background.

In my English class, we just finished reading and discussing this. I was really impressed with it.

However... I've got an important essay due on Monday, and I'm freaking out about it. It has to be an interpretation of one or more of the texts we've read in class so far. The big contenders are "Howl" and Hamlet. I have no idea what to write about. It has to go beyond a summary.

I can't believe I waited this long to start it. Well, actually, I can believe it- procrastination has always been my downfall.

Why am I blogging instead of working on it?

Ugh, I'm so screwed.

When we die, we come back different.

Like I said in my last post, I'm going to try and change the image in my header every once in a while.

The new heading is from the webcomic A Softer World. I'm a huge fan of the site. The specific comic that I put on here reminds me of one of my roommates (reoccuring theme in my blog? Possibly).

One day we were on the elevator, making our way back to our room which happens to be on the 26th floor. Randomly and out of nowhere, my roommate says "If I were reincarnated, I'd want to come back as an elevator."

What the hell.

I can't even remember her reasoning. I think it was something along the lines that elevators get people to where they need to be.. or something.

But is it just me, or does everyone hate elevators? I certainly don't like them. They're crowded and they break down all the time. Oh, and how about those awkward silences in elevators? Pretty awkward.

I've come to the conclusion that she's an odd one.

Little Miss Sunshine :]

I got rid of my layout. Too much of a hassle. But to jazz up my page, I added an image behind my title. If you can't figure out what it is, it's an image from the movie Little Miss Sunshine.

Seriously, I cannot even begin to tell you how much I love this movie. It's such a friggin amazing movie. Steve Carell departs from his normal 40 Year Old Virgin comedies, and takes on a fairly serious role, totally nailing it. And Paul Dano... can I just say that I totally love him. He doesn't even have one single line until the movie is nearly over, but his character is definitely my favorite. (sidenote: I have mixed feelings about Paul Dano's performance in There Will Be Blood. I can't tell if he was over acting or if that was just his character. If you've seen the movie, what did you think of his performance?)

But back to Little Miss Sunshine... the entire cast was incredible. Seriously, go watch that movie.

I think I'll start changing the image every once and a while. Maybe that'll give me things to blog about.

To end this blog of randomness... I changed my song. Now, it's "She Loves Me So" by Anthony Green. Chchcheck him out :]

Uhhh...

So, I'm working on getting a customized layout/template on here, but I'm terrible with html. Right now, the text is not exactly horizontal : /

But.. I'm working on it. So, everything is under construction for the time being.

edit----

My new layout is pretty badass, but unfortunately it's just not working out for me. I'm going to have to go back to the basic template.

I fly like paper, get high like planes.

Story time:

I have two roommates. One is my twin sister, the other a friend from high school. Yes, I have heard the warnings of multiple people. "Don't room with a really good friend." "Is rooming with your twin sister really a good idea?" So far, everythings been great. Thanks for the warning, but I'm pretty good with the situation. We have fun times, and we don't feel bad being completely honest to each other. I like the way things are.

So, one roommate likes to listen to music all the time. We don't really agree on music, so we both use headphones all the time. What makes me laugh is the fact that she wears headphones, but then sings the songs outloud. Doesn't singing the songs outloud make the headphones pointless?

Anyways... lately she's been listening to the song "Paper Planes" by M.I.A. You know, the song that goes...
All I want to do is (BANG BANG BANG BANG!)
And (KA-CHING!)
And take your money

Well, out of the entire song, my roommate only sings the line that says "And take your money". So, it'll be complete silence, then I hear "and take your money"... pause... "and take your money".

So, picture that in your head. If it wasn't so funny, it'd be really annoying.

I added the song to the blog. So if you have no idea what song I'm talking about, go and listen to it.

First Post!

So I'm creating this blog in response to an assignment for my seminar. Wooo! I don't really have much to say, hence the name of this blog. I named it "Insignificancies" because you will never read anything remotely important or significant in here. Sorry if that disappoints you (although I don't really know why it would).

Well, I think I'm going to have to cut this entry short because I have nothing to say.
